Related Organizations and Events

Check out the following organizations and events. They're almost all run by our friends so they're almost all guaranteed to be cool!

  • We, the directors of Street Scramble and Night & Day, also produce an adventure race series in the Seattle area: BEAST. Standing for Barebones Evening Adventure Sprint Tournament, BEAST races have winning times of 1.5 to 2.0 hours, and take place in Seattle or just a short drive away. A great way to get a taste of adventure racing, or to practice and have fun if you're already a seasoned racer. BEAST is co-produced by our sponsored adventure race team, Team Mergeo.com.

  • In Fall, 2006, we initated a Seattle-area trail run series: Northwest Trail Runs. We've got four or five runs slated for 2007; check the website for our schedule.

  • Want your Street Scramble or Night & Day team to move faster on foot? Our proprietary high-performance tow gear, WeGo Team Link, allows slower team members to receive comfortable assistance from faster team members. It's the first trekking tow gear on the market, and you can buy it at our website.

  • Big Blue Adventure is run by Todd Jackson. He puts on great adventure races in Northern California.

  • Trioba, the creation of Justin Yeager, is a long-standing and popular adventure race series in the Seattle area.

  • Roger Michel and Yumay Chang, both members of our sponsored adventure race team MerGeo.com, started their own race series in 2007: Fourth Dimension AR. They're planning a winter race in February and a 24 hour race in September.

  • Shane Gibson and Kathleen O'Neill used to put on some very nice adventure races in the Portland area through Wicked Adventure Racing. They moved to the Seattle area in 2006 and promise they'll give us some great races in 2008!

  • Inner Limits is an urban adventure race in Calgary, Alberta. It's produced by our Canadian orienteering buddies.

  • Rich Gallaher puts on a Seattle event that's like a small Amazing Race: Pretty Darn Good Race. Eric and I participated in 2005 and had a blast.
  • Urban Challenge seems to have dropped out of sight in recent years, but Kevin Keefe has filled the gap with his Urban Dare series, also held in several North American cities. If you want a race where puzzle-solving can trump speed, give Kevin's race a try.

  • Also in San Francisco, Night & Day participant Jayson Wechter puts on a superb puzzle-solving checkpoint race: the Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt. Taking place concurrently with, and sometimes in the midst of, San Francisco's Chinese New Year Parade, this race is loads of fun.

  • The U.S. Orienteering Federation (U.S.O.F.) produces orienteering events throughout the U.S. through its member clubs. Street Scramble and Night amp; Day are produced by the Bay Area Orienteering Club and the Cascade Orienteering Club, of which your event directors are proud members. If you enjoy our events and want to learn more about orienteering, and especially if you'd like to learn about backcountry orienteering, go to the U.S.O.F. website to find the club nearest you.
