Travel & LodgingPlease note that prices listed below were last updated in 2003. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, or Sea-Tac, is about a half hour drive from both downtown Seattle and the event center. The county bus system, Metro Transit, offers cheap and convenient service from the airport to downtown -- look for the 194 (express) or the 174 (local); the fare is $1.25 or $2.00 depending on time of day. Gray Line's Airport Express takes you from the airport to many downtown hotels for $8.50. Shuttle Express will take you to any location near downtown Seattle for about $21, and a taxi ride will cost you about $33. Homestay & Hostel: We are willing to hook up out of town visitors with locals interested in hosting them. Hosting may be for a fee. Let us know if this interests you. Another convenient and inexpensive possibility is Hostelling International downtown. The hostel is right on the waterfront, next door to Seattle's ever popular Pike Place Market -- when it comes to tourism, you can't ask for a better location. In 2003 rates were $20 and up per person. The event weekend promises to book up early, so make your reservation as soon as possible. Hotels & Motels: A few less expensive options near downtown are Travelodge Seattle City Center, La Quinta, and the Sixth Avenue Inn. More options are listed at HotelGuide Seattle. We have not investigated camping, but it is our impression that there is none convenient to the event center. Let us know what you find if you research this and we'll share it here. Other Options: Feel free to contact us for further lodging assistance.
